OdinS has provided a solution for the monitoring and control of irrigation, nutrition and climate in different types of hydroponic greenhouses, highlighting greenhouse varieties with closed water cycle and especially hydroponic greenhouses in closed container-type greenhouses.
The parameters monitored in this type of systems are temperature, relative humidity, radiation and CO2 level. Depending on the variant of the greenhouse, the control system will be of greater or lesser complexity, being a modular and scalable system.
The simplest case implemented is found in the facilities of the University of Murcia, where climate control is carried out by temperature and humidity with slats, shading screen, windows and by a geothermal unit, which functions as a heat exchanger through geothermal wells that allow the interior of the greenhouse to be heated or cooled depending on the environmental conditions. Irrigation is done by time and there is no fertilizer (nutrition) control.
On the other hand, in the town of Santomera we can find another hydroponic greenhouse implemented where complete nutrition and climate control is carried out with 13 climate systems and an intelligent irrigation module. In this case, the water cycle is also closed, with disinfection and water purification assuming a system of high efficiency in water consumption.
