Intelligent monitoring of electric motors

Industry

A company needed an effective solution to quickly detect and respond to potential failures in two electric motors critical to its daily operations. The lack of a real-time monitoring system led to the risk of unplanned downtime, high maintenance costs, and a slow response time to incidents.

Technology implemented

We implemented a specialized fault monitoring control panel, designed to detect any anomalies in motor operation. This system, based on IoT technologies, enables immediate response by automatically sending notifications to the customer when any incident occurs.

The heart of the system is the IPex04G controller, equipped with configurable inputs/outputs and MQTT connectivity over GPRS/NB-IoT, making it a robust and scalable device for demanding industrial environments.

The solution is fully integrated with our WiCloudS platform, which provides an intuitive and powerful management environment for the client:

  • Setting custom alarms based on defined parameters.

  • Creation of specific incidence rules for each engine.

  • View fault and event history, facilitating analysis and predictive maintenance.

Results

This intelligent monitoring system for electric motors has yielded multiple operational benefits:

  • Continuous monitoring of the status of electric motors.

  • Reduction in downtime thanks to a proactive response to failures.

  • Savings in maintenance costs by anticipating incidents before they become serious.

  • Flexible configuration adapted to the operating environment.

  • Scalability, allowing the future incorporation of more motors or sensors without the need to redesign the system.
