Multidisciplinary approaches and software technologies for participation, recruitment, and engagement in innovative energy communities in Europe.
MASTERPIECE aims to create a modular digital service coordination and cooperation platform that facilitates the creation and operation of energy communities. The platform will allow community members to actively contribute to services and developments, making the solution participatory by design. The project methodology focuses on social innovations and participatory processes to engage all stakeholders, while ICT tools support the creation, management, and replicability of energy communities.
The platform’s digital ecosystem will assist with organizational, legislative, and operational activities, including the creation of energy communities, incentives for active participation, financial planning, energy efficiency training, development of sustainable business models, and dissemination of best practices. A decision-making toolkit tailored to each community’s objectives, behavior, financial conditions, and regulatory framework will be incorporated. MASTERPIECE will also address energy poverty by identifying and supporting the most vulnerable individuals.
